There are two schools of thought amongst the Attendants when it comes to this morbid beastie; either it is a pile of neurotically assembled bones functioning as a single being, or it is a form of ooze that attached itself to bones, like a macabre hermit crab. My money is on ooze, but I've always been a skull pile is half-full kind of guy.
